With their focus on locations, and often activities, incentives are sometimes the most difficult vacations to organize, especially within an established budget. Fortunately, Sicily offers a number of exceptional choices --from winery visits to archeological excursions to treks on Mount Etna, Europe's highest active volcano and greatest natural wonder.

Coming up with ideas is, at least initially, the most challenging aspect of planning an incentive holiday for a group, particularly if the participants have widely varied interests and lifestyles. In the past we've organized gala dinners in aristocratic palaces and boat trips to the Aeolian Islands, as well as helicopter excursions around Etna. For sporting activities, we've organized horse riding in the mountains and sailboarding in the Ionian Sea, as well as trekking (favorite hiking locations are Etna and the scenic Madonie and Nebrodi mountains).

Of course, your participants might simply prefer a leisurely week at hilltop Taormina, with plenty of time for the beach, lots of shopping, and perhaps a few optional excursions to historical sights.

We're often asked about planning times and seasons. The time necessary to plan an incentive holiday depends, to a great extent, on the size of your group and the complexity of itineraries and activities, but it's always best to contact us as early as possible, usually 10-12 months in advance. For a smaller group (fewer than 15 participants) 8-10 months may be sufficient. Please consider that in Sicily August is a very chaotic (and hot) vacation month, while January and February find some hotels closed. Spring and Autumn are generally the best times to host an incentive vacation here.
